All these sites present the same service for family realtives to connect and share profiles, videos, photos. FamilyIgloo at http://www.familyigloo.com present a new concept of getting the families connected together at the local level.

Another family social network is http://www.familyden.com. It is for family realtives to connect and share profiles, videos, photos. Security is a high priority, so the only people that can view your posted items are those you choose.

Thanks for the detailed review! Just a small thing to add to the summary: If you need a network (not only in German, but) in any other language than english, you might find it on Kindo ;-)
Kindo is available even in 12 languages already, including turkish, russian and arabic!

More features and languages to come. Stay tuned: http://kindo.com/blog

Cheers Mario and the Kindo Team.

I think that Ancestry.com has the best tree system out there by far. You can find actual records that back up the information in the tree, photos of your ancestors and more.

Thanks for the comprehensive write up! As a representative of Geni, I just wanted to clarify a few points for you and your readers:

1. Our 'Share your tree' feature has now been released! This feature enables you to embed your tree in your blog, facebook profile, etc., or just email a link to someone. You can read all of the details here - http://blog.geni.com/2008/01/new-features--.html

2. Geni users have comprehensive privacy controls. Our users can choose who can view each part of their profile as well as who can edit their profile. Our users can also control the privacy of profiles they have added.

3. We also just released two additional new feature: our Family News feature, which gives you a constant update of all of the recent activity by your family on Geni and our Events and Timeline features, which provides a visual representation of the lives of your Family members.

You can read more about these and our other new features on our blog: blog.geni.com

Thanks again for the review and let us know if you have any other questions!
