Boycott Easyjet from now on – Riga trip cancelled

I was so excited to go, had my little bag packed and looked forward to visit Riga, spend a few days at the Baltic Sea, visit some Latvian friends and meet with people that I could discuss the European dimension of Local Authorities with.

But Easyjet cut through my plans. This morning I got up at seven, left the house at 9, but due to train delays arrived at the airport at 9.45, in the Check-In-Hall at 9.50 – but by then they had already closed the Check-In. Even with 35 minutes until departure, even with me having only a small bag, they could not issue me a ticket. They offered to reschedule for tomorrow – for another 52 Euros. Since Easyjet does not allow cancellations, the flight back is also gone.

Damn them! Never again with Easyjet and its rubbish service. If you want other examples, just read Andy’s or Mat’s report, or look at Blagger.com.

Is that allowed? Shouldn’t the reschedule be for free, if it’s their fault? Maybe you should visit a consumer advice centre (Verbraucherzentrale).

Well, they claim that it’s not their fault because they closed the check-in counter on-time.
