The amazing supermarkets

My friend Jörn works at a supermarket. This post is dedicated to him and his hard work. For your night shifts as an inspiration (Via Urbandesire and Beetlebum):

I have a great supermarket around the corner. When I pay there with card instead of cash, instead of saying the supermarkets name, it says House Lime Tree Leaf. And it has a great meat lady at the butcher’s shop.

The other day I was buying chicken meat – and the meat lady plunged her fingers into the bowl with chicken filet. Without plastic gloves, so to speak. Fingers met meat. Yummy.

The next day, I ordered salami. This time, she had plastic gloves on. “50 gramm, please”. On the scales she put 75 gramms using her hand with the plastic glove. “Leave it or take one off”, she asked. I said “Please take one slice off” – and she did, using her bare other hand. Cheers to the next salami customer.

The following day I ordered Buletten – Berlin burgers. They make them there. She used a spoon to put them onto a plastic plate – ready to eat. I asked “Are they still warm?” And yes, with both her bare hands she tested the temperature of the buletten. “Still warm.” she said. Thanks.
