Feierabend – networking for old people
Today I signed up at the Social Networking Platform Feierabend – a community for those above 50. Even though they have almost the same features as other social networks, it is very interesting to see how many users have already registered – apparently up to 100.000 profiles.
Do they really? I compared my daily readers and the Feierabend visitors through Alexa and what did I see? We are playing in the same class of visitors. Hooray. So either I have a lot of readers, or Feierabend does not have as many users as they claim.
But in generally, I like the idea of a network for old people. Why not? But why do I have to provide my address, my age and my phone-number to sign up? As if old people don’t know how data mining works? And especially if Feierabend.de finances itself through commercial ads, this data might come in quite handy.
